BOARD OF DIRECTORS
SHANE GORDON - PRESIDENT
Shane has been a member of our board since 2015 and was acclaimed President of the board in 2019. Shane began curling at the age of 4 and has never looked back since. He's curled at provincial and national levels as his dream continues to be a participant at the Brier.
Fun Fact: Shane is currently the Manager of Marketing, Communications, and Annual Giving at the Northern Cancer Foundation of Health Science North.
EVELYNN HOFFMAN - Vice President
A Jill of all trades, Evelynn can be found helping at the curling club behind the bar, putting her communications knowledge to use on social media, or writing grant applications late into the night. She has some competitive curling experience under her belt but lately has been enjoying the relaxation that recreational curling has to offer. When Evelynn is not at the curling club she can be found reading a book, crocheting or cross country skiing.
LEE TREMBLAY - TREASURER
Lee began curling in 1985 and he is currently curling in our Monday Night Open League and our Saturday Industrial League. He has been our treasurer for 15 years.
DEBBIE GROOM-FORTIN - SECRETARY
Debbie was elected to our Board of Directors back in 2014 and became our Secretary in 2016. Debbie began curling while in her high school years in the Idylwylde Business Girls League. She joined Curl Sudbury back in 1995 and has joined many competitive and non-competitive leagues.
Fun Fact: In 1987, Debbie achieved her Level 1 Curling Officiating, and has now also graduated to a Level 3 Official. She has traveled to many different provincial and national events since.
BILL SLOAN - Director at Large
Bill started curling at Curl Sudbury in the fall of 1992. He is currently curling in our Monday Night Open League and in our Scramble Division on Thursday Night.
DAVID DAOUST - HOUSE CHAIR
David began curling at the age of 6 (1991) and started his first full season in 1993/94. He has represented Curl Sudbury at a competitive level since 1998 and has been on the board since 2014. David currently plays the Monday Night Open draw, Tuesday Night Doubles, and our Wednesday Night Competitive League.
Fun Fact: David has also been one of our instructors for the Learn2curl program.
DEBBIE BEITSCHAT - MEMBER AT LARGE
KELLY IRVINE - EVENT COORDINATOR
Kelly began curling back in her high school days, left the sport, and since 2012 has made a triumphant return! She loves greeting all of our curlers and enjoys the social part of the game much more than the actual game itself.
